Enclave Power Substation

Scope of work: Reinforced concrete foundations and plinths for transformers and switchgear; transformer bund and oil-containment walls; cable trench networks and ducting interfaces; internal access roads and hardstand areas; drainage and external works. All civil elements executed to high-voltage installation and safety standards. Aggregates and chippings supplied by ATQC from their Dawa quarry.

Enclave Power Company engaged JMC and ATQC to deliver the civil works for a new 130MVA power substation in the Tema Free Zones Industrial Area — a key infrastructure investment to meet the rapidly growing energy demands of the zone’s industrial tenants.

Our scope covered all civil elements required for high-voltage installation: reinforced foundations for transformers and switchgear, transformer bunding and oil-containment structures, cable trench networks, internal access roads, and associated drainage works — all executed under strict electrical safety and construction quality standards.

The substation now provides reliable, high-capacity power to some of the zone’s most significant industrial operations, including Cargill Ghana and Barry Callebaut — two of the world’s largest cocoa processing facilities — and forms a critical part of the Tema Free Zones’ infrastructure backbone.
